Christopher Peter Meloni has been a popular American actor throughout his career. Most famously, he is popular for the roles he was in "Law & Order Special Victims Unit". He identified his interest towards acting from his days in school and then pursued acting studies at The University of Colorado at Boulder. While he has appeared in movies as well as on TV, it is the character actors on smaller screens that have given him popularity. This is not surprising since the actor has managed to grab people's attention with his characters who are on either sides of the law. He played the part of a serial killer on the first TV series he appeared in and then went on to portray the character of an NYPD detective. He was repeatedly nominated for both the prestigious Emmy Awards, and the PRISM Awards. He is famous for his blue-piercing eyes that have been the trademark of his character and has helped him portray tough characters with charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
